P. Diddy made his fans curious when teasing that he had a "big announcement" to make on Wednesday, May 15. He later set tongues wagging when following it up with a statement that he's joining the next season of "Downton Abbey".

"MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that Im a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!" so the rapper claimed. He went further by posting photos of him wearing vintage outfits, dubbing them sneak peeks from the set of "Downton Abbey".

PBS, however, quickly poured cold water to the rumor as it stated that "it's simply not true."

Diddy, who admitted that he's a fan of "Downton Abbey", was seemingly pumped up with excitement after learning the return date of the show as he tweeted earlier, "I have to admit that Downton Abbey is one of my favorite shows- and thats why Im so excited today."

The day before, PBS announced that the fourth season of the Julian Fellowes-created series would debut on January 5, 2014 and air through February 23, 2014 in the U.S.
