With only a couple of weeks left before the film's release, more scenes from "The Host (2013)" are shared in a new clip. A courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, the sneak peek highlights what seems to be the first encounter between Saoirse Ronan's Melanie and Max Irons' Jared.

Melanie grabs some food from a fridge when Jared suddenly puts a knife to her neck from the back. She fights back and runs away, but he later catches her and stresses that he's a human, much like she is.

Based on Stephenie Meyer's novel of the same title, "The Host" is set in the future, where Earth is occupied by a species who erase the minds of their human hosts, leaving their bodies intact. Melanie Stryder is one of the last surviving humans who fights back, risking her life for the people she cares about most - Jared, Ian, her brother Jamie and her Uncle Jeb - proving that love can conquer all.

Andrew Niccol adapts the book into a screenplay in addition to serving as the helmer. Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, Chandler Canterbury and William Hurt also join the cast ensemble of the sci-fi, romantic pic, which is slated to open wide in U.S. theaters on March 29.
