CBS Television Distribution decides not to renew 'The Jeff Probst Show' because 'the audience isn't there to support a second year.'

AceShowbiz - "The Jeff Probst Show" is getting the axe after only one season. CBS Television Distribution has announced that it decided not to renew the Jeff Probst-hosted talk show, which debuted on September 10, 2012.

"We believe Jeff is an incredible talent, and that he and his dedicated producing team delivered quality episodes throughout the season," the company says in a statement. "Unfortunately, the audience isn't there to support a second year."

CTD adds, "We are grateful to the entire staff, our affiliate partners and advertisers for their ongoing support of THE JEFF PROBST SHOW. Production and broadcast of original episodes will continue through the current season."

Probst himself admits he's "super bummed but extremely proud." He continues, "The truth is all shows come to an end. Ours just ended a decade sooner than we had hoped."

"Jeff Probst" failed to gain viewers since it was premiered last year, garnering less than one million audience per episode. Another struggling freshman syndicated talk show produced by 20th Television, "The Ricki Lake Show", recently received the same fate as "Jeff Probst".
