First Look at Josh Gad as Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak in 'jOBS'
Movie

Possing alongside Ashton Kutcher, who plays Steve Jobs, Gad is seen rocking Wozniak's signature beard and long hair when he was younger.

AceShowbiz - How Josh Gad will look like as Steve Jobs' Apple partner Steve Wozniak in "jOBS" has been revealed in new stills from the upcoming biopic. Coming out via USA Today, the images show Gad along with Ashton Kutcher as the titular character. Rocking long curly hair, Gad is seen rising his thumb while posing with Kutcher in one pic. In another one, meanwhile, he is seen busy on his working table with the Apple co-founder.

In preparation to portray Wozniak, Gad admitted that he studied "literally hundreds" of footage featuring the visionary computer engineer. Adding that he also took programming courses to get into the character, the "1600 Penn" star said, "This was literally outside my wheelhouse. I felt like I was going to college."

Another thing he had to undergo when starring as Wozniak was donning fake beard and having his hair straightened every morning. "Unfortunately it was a grueling two-hour process each day, where my face felt like it needed to be ripped off," he opened up. "The first night I went to bed, I was literally stuck to my pillow. It was sick, sick glue."

Of the movie itself, Gad said, "In a way, it's a love story between these two men. And their journey is full of heartbreak and some different parting-of-ways moments." His co-star, Kutcher, added, "The combination of Jobs' ambition and design and Woz's technical genius provided us with one of the most revolutionary tools ever created - the personal computer."

During the chat with USA Today, Gad also gushed about how he's impressed with Kutcher's performance as Jobs. "There is an eerie resemblance - he didn't have to do much to get there,'' he said. "When he showed up, it sent a ripple of shock throughout the set. Everyone was like, 'We're in the presence of Jobs. Let's go do this.' It was literally like being in the room with the creator of Apple. This is one of those roles that's the perfect fit."

Helmed by Joshua Michael Stern, "jOBS" will take place on the early years of Apple, its founding and up-and-down years from 1971 to 2000. The film will be premiered at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, January 26.
