Elisha Cuthbert is engaged to be married to NHL player Dion Phaneuf. The 29-year-old actress and her fiance celebrated their engagement on Sunday, September 2 night at the New Glasgow Lobster in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

"Last night we had the privilege of hosting a surprise engagement party for Dion Phaneuf and Elisha Cuthbert," the restaurant tweeted on September 3. "Congrats to them both." Phaneuf made reservation for about 40 friends and family a week ago but never mentioned that it was for an engagement party. The restaurant said the engagement practically was "a nice surprise for all their guests."

A witness told Us Weekly, "Elisha looked very happy and pleased. She was showing off her ring to her family and the wait staff. The female wait staff were gushing about the ring saying it was 'quite impressive' and 'huge.' At one point, Dion and Elisha both got up an gave a speech and thanked everyone for being there and celebrating this exciting time with them."

Cuthbert and Phaneuf have been dating since 2008.
