Ann Curry is brought back to NBC's "Today" for the special coverage of the Colorado shooting. Curry will co-host with Savannah Guthrie who replaced her earlier this month in the permanent co-host position.

Starting Friday, July 20, Curry and Guthrie will report live from Aurora, Colorado where a mass murder had taken place inside a multiplex when "The Dark Knight Rises" was showing at midnight. They will continue co-hosting during the weekend editions. Another "Today" host Matt Lauer will not make the trip, TMZ said.

Curry will first report for the massacre in a special edition of "Dateline" on Friday 9 P.M. NBC will also put Curry on lead to report the incident on "Nightly News".

"Today" made changes in the hosting position in late June, replacing Curry with Guthrie after the former stayed for 15 years in the program. Curry made a teary farewell to the show a week after the report broke.
