The USA Network miniseries features Sigourney Weaver as a former First Lady who is now serving as the Secretary of State, and Ciaraan Hinds as a disgraced former president.

USA Network has debuted a first look at miniseries "Political Animals" during its upfront presentation in New York on Thursday, May 17. It focuses on Sigourney Weaver's Elaine Barrish, a divorced former First Lady who is currently serving as the Secretary of State.
In the promo, Barrish is being questioned about her ego and her political plans. She finds an unlikely ally in Carla Gugino's Susan Berg, a D.C. journalist who had previously dedicated herself to tearing Barrish to pieces.
Ciaran Hinds plays Barrish's ex-husband as well as the former President of the United States, Bud Hammond, whose unflattering habit of bedding women has been exposed. Rounding up the Hammond family are Bud and Barrish's sons, Douglas and T.J., who are portrayed by James Wolk and Sebastian Stan respectively.
Created by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark, the six-part drama will premiere Sunday, July 15 at 10 P.M. on USA.
