Emily Maynard met her 25 suitors on "The Bachelorette" season 8 premiere which aired Monday, May 14. Among those making memorable arrivals were Jef who showed up on his skateboard, party MC Stevie who brought a boombox and danced to disco music, as well as Tony who presented a glass slipper to the single mother.
Randy made a hilarious entrance as he dressed up as a grandma. "Very creative," Emily praised him. Kalon arrived on a helicopter, and soon earned the nickname "Helicopter Guy" from other guys who disliked his move. Travis brought an ostrich egg and said that he would take care of the egg like he would take care of Emily and her daughter Ricki.
Doug Clerget called himself a hugger and shared a letter written by his son, Austin, to Emily. His effort earned him the first impression rose as the single mother explained, "You made me feel really comfortable... It's cool to have somebody else here who gets what I'm going through."
18 other guys also got roses from Emily that night, while the rest of them were sent home. Those unlucky guys were Randy who impersonated a grandma, marine biologist Jean-Paul, fitness model Jackson, Brent who fathers six children, singer-songwriter David, and Lerone who was the only black guy.
