New Line is purchasing a new horror film. The distributor of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" has allegedly sealed a deal on a spec script for the forthcoming horror movie, "The Watching Hour".

Deadline reported that New Line has nabbed the film, whose script is written by Carey and Shane Van Dyke, grandchildren of comedian Dick Van Dyke. Michael Connolly will team up with Mary Parent to serve as the producers. The storyline of the film is still under wraps.

Beside "A Nightmare on Elm Street", New Line has distributed 2009's "The Final Destination". It recently also distributed comedy film "Hall Pass", where Owen Wilson starred opposite Jason Sudeikis.
