Following a bootleg teaser trailer of "The Tree of Life" which surfaced earlier this month, the official version has finally been released online. Making its way out via Apple, it gives preview to the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father.
Adult Jack finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. The story ends in hope, acknowledging the beauty and joy in all things, in the everyday and above all in the family.
Brad Pitt takes the role of the father, while Jessica Chastain is Jack's mother. The adult version of Jack is portrayed by Sean Penn. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Terrence Malick serves behind the lens for the drama that is plotted to come out Stateside on May 27, 2011.
A new poster for "The Tree of Life" has also been debuted, featuring a baby boy's foot which represents the birth of Jack as seen in the teaser.
