HBO Saying Goodbye to 'Entourage'
TV

The longest-running series the cable network has, 'Entourage' may be translated into a feature film project if it feels right to do so.

"Entourage", just as predicted, would be wrapped up next year in its eighth and shorter season. However, it may not be the end of Vince Chase and the gang because, as predicted as well, a feature film is being considered.

At the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo confirmed the final season which won't be as long as the traditional season on HBO. "The plan right now is we'll finish up this season, we'll do a shorter order for next season, we've talked about six," he said.

Lombardo also revealed creator Doug Ellin's vision of a movie, saying "Doug clearly wants to write a film but wants to do it if it makes sense for the story." He added, "We have a long-term relationship with Doug Ellin, and I'm sure you'll soon see another series from him here. But next summer will definitely be the final season of 'Entourage'."

"Entourage" is HBO's longest-running series which is surpassing "Sex and the City" six seasons record. The seventh season will be wrapped up on September 12 with Eminem and Christina Aguilera as guest stars.
