Husband of late Brittany Murphy, Simon Monjack, has been laid to rest next to the actress at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles on Thursday, May 27. Monjack was eulogized in the Chapel of the Hills, the same memorial chapel where Murphy was also honored for the last time in December 2009.

During the funeral, around eighty friends and family members gathered for a private orthodox Jewish service. Family spokesman Roger Neal described the memorial, which was presided over by Rabbi David Baron, as "celebratory and healing." Neal said, "It was Simon's wish to be laid to rest next to her."

Neal further shared about Murphy's mother Sharon Murphy and Monjack's mother Linda who spoke at the service, saying "Sharon was very strong and spoke about how much she loved Simon, and how now Simon and Brittany are together." He added, "She told them 'I'll miss you my babies'."

A photo of Murphy and Monjack sat by Monjack's casket at the ceremony with a recording of the "Uptown Girls" actress singing a rendition of "Smile", accompanied by her husband on the piano.

Simon Monjack was found dead on May 23, five months after Brittany Murphy died, at around 9:30 P.M. in his Los Angeles house. Monjack reportedly suffered a heart attack as L.A. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter confirmed that prescription medication was found at the scene. The Assistant Chief Coroner explained, "We're not sure if it is natural causes or a possible accident."
