'To see my dad's face light up the way that it did and how proud he was of me just filled me with this kind of amazing emotion of thankfulness,' Doherty said after the result. 'I call that a success.'

AceShowbiz - Although they received low scores, Buzz Aldrin and Kate Gosselin survived the first elimination week of "Dancing with the Stars". The celebrity taking the bad news is Shannen Doherty who actually got a moderate sum of two-week scores, 38 out of 60.
The result was so shocking that even Pamela Anderson was in the bottom two. Host Tom Bergeron tweeted few hours before the show began, "Just found out tonight's bottom two on DWTS! WTF???". Pamela was in fact one of the judges' favorites. She was given a combined 43 out of 60 in the two dances.
Doherty however, did not take the news too hard. She said upon finding out her fate, "I think that dancing isn't really my thing. I'm an actor and it's what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted. And I think it's fate, my partner is hurt."
It turned out that Mark Ballas hurt his knee in rehearsal and the MRI showed that his muscle has separated from the bone. If Doherty had moved on, Ballas would have been replaced by his dad Corky Ballas because he has to step out for at least six weeks. "To be honest, I wouldn't want to go on without Mark," Doherty said.
