Mia Kirshner Coming to 'Vampire Diaries' Dead
TV

The Jenny Schecter of 'The L Word' will be the sweet but dangerous wife of Matt Davis' Alaric when the show returns for the other half of season 1 next year.

AceShowbiz - Now that "The L Word" has come to an end and her recurring role on "24" is not returning any sooner, Mia Kirshner has inked a deal with The CW's "The Vampire Diaries" to recur. The casting news which was broken by EW is topped by a hint from E! that says her character on the vampire series may not be alive after all.

Kirshner is slated to take the role of Isobel, the wife of Mystic Falls' new history teacher Alaric. The character is "sweet-yet-dangerous" and will be featured in flashback scenes. According to E!'s source, Isobel is already dead at the hands of "a main character we already know".

Kirshner's recurring appearance begins on January 21, meaning her part has probably been shot. The synopsis for the episode called "Bloodlines" is "Stefan and Damon's long lost sister, Maria comes for a visit and seeks revenge. It is up to the brothers to stop her before the truth is out. The mysterious man Elena meets on the road reveals that he is a vampire, and Elena is bitten by him, which Stefan learns later, forcing him into revenge against the unknown killer. A new witch comes to town, Alyssa."
