Having been friends with Adam Lambert since they participated in the 8th season of "American Idol", Kris Allen knows Adam's feeling after he split from boyfriend Drake LaBry. At the announcement of the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards nominations at Beverly Hills' SLS Hotel on Tuesday, November 10, Kris told E! News the runner-up is upset about his failed romance, but is doing good.

"He's doing good," Kris stated. "He's obviously not completely happy about it, but I think it was just something that needed to happen." He then added, "We see each other every once in awhile and we text all the time."

Adam himself hasn't issued a single statement just yet regarding his separation from Drake, who is an interior designer. He simply told E! News while attending TV Guide magazine's Hot List Party at the SLS Hotel, "I'm so busy with all this stuff and with the record that I'm really just focused on the music right now."

Already having a full plate on his agenda, Adam will still have to complete the video for his single, "For Your Entertainment". He, additionally, is going to have his debut album "For Your Entertainment" being released in U.S. market on November 23, just days after Kris' eponymous set "Kris Allen" is due out across U.S. on November 17.
