"The Vampire Diaries" will shift its focus a bit from Stefan's birthday this week to Bonnie's power next week. Bonnie is having terrifying dreams about one of her ancestors. Despite Elena's efforts to smooth things over, Bonnie and Caroline continue to argue over the medallion. When the girls hold a sance to help them decide what to do, the results are stranger than any of them expected.
Meanwhile, Matt comes to Caroline's aid when she needs a friend. Damon finally reveals to Stefan the stunning reason he has returned to Mystic Falls. The episode called "History Repeating" airs on Thursday, November 12.
This would also be the episode where Matthew Davis from "Legally Blonde" guest stars as Alaric Saltzman, the new history teacher who gives Jeremy a break and is introduced to Jenna. In the book the series is based on, Alaric is suspected as a vampire hunter after it is discovered that he has been studying about them.
