Jay-Z pays homage to New York City in Hype Williams-directed music video for his single "Empire State of Mind". Captures of the Big Apple's several famous landmarks, such as Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium, are intercepting his performance scenes with Alicia Keys.
"Empire State of Mind" is one of the singles appearing in Jay-Z's September 11 release "The Blueprint 3". A so-called New York anthem, the song was first showcased live on-stage during 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13.
The joint track has so far peaked at number five on Billboard Hot 100 since making its way out in September. Recently performed at the World Series taking place at Yankee Stadium on October 29, it will be sung live once again by Jay-Z and Alicia keys at 2009 American Music Awards on November 22.
