TV

Giving the show a shake, the producers are eying to kill one character and bring in a new face.

AceShowbiz - After four years on television, the producers of "Heroes" are giving the show a jolt it very much needs. According to E! Online, there will be a major death which scenario is still in the works. Two things about which character will meet an unfortunate path are: it's a male and he's one of the original cast.

The average rating for "Heroes" has been steadily declining since its second season in September 2007. The show which is not exactly cheap to make is down 34 percent from last year's average rating and 47 percent lower than the second season's.

Nevertheless, NBC was prepared to give a surprise or two in order to keep things fresh like in the October 12 episode where Claire was given a lesbian storyline. The episode managed to retain its 5 million viewership with a slight increase from the previous episode by .20 million.

With the death came an addition. A story from THR revealed that the show has recruited "The Riches" actor Todd Stashwick to have a recurring role as Eli. This new character is part of this season's traveling carnival storyline and has close ties to the group's leader, Samuel. It is still unclear which episode Eli will pop up in.
