Latin hip hop/alternative-reggae duo Calle 13 dominate nominations list for this year's Latin Grammy Awards. Announced on a press conference on September 17 at the Conga Room in Los Angeles, the musical act received five gongs.

"We are super happy," said one of the group's members Rene "Residente" Perez concerning their domination. "The Latin Grammy Awards are, for us, valid because they have to do a lot with the music, with the art."

Calle 13 were listed in such categories as Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Urban Music Album, Best Alternative Song and Best Short Form Music Video. Other nominee recipients for the 10th annual awards included Wisin & Yandel, Laura Pausini, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee and 50 Cent.

2009 Latin Grammy Awards will be held on November 5 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and broadcast live by Univision. Its full winners list can be obtained on UNIVISION.com.
