AceShowbiz - Universal Pictures has hyped up the promo effort for its upcoming "The Wolfman" by providing information for the trailer release in addition to unraveling a batch of new images. The studio recently announced that on Thursday, August 20, the trailer for the horror thriller will be making its worldwide debut.

Yahoo! Movies and AccessHollywood.com will be the hosts for the trailer premiere, which will coincide with the launching of "Avatar" first trailer. Beside news for the trailer, Universal has also brought out a number of fresh stills. The new pictures provide a better look at Emily Blunt's Gwen Conliffe and Anthony Hopkins' Sir John Talbot among other things.

Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, "The Wolfman" brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. It is set in the late 1880s and follows Lawrence Talbot, a haunted-by-his-past nobleman who is forced to go back to his family estate and meet his estranged father after his brother vanishes. In his attempt to find his brother and his murderer, he discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

"Jurassic Park III" and "Hidalgo" helmer Joe Johnston serves behind the lens for this remake to 1941 classic horror film of the same name. The "Road to Perdition" writer David Self and the acclaimed "Se7en" scribe Andrew Kevin Walker provide the script, while Oscars-winning Benicio Del Toro toplines. Originally set up for February 13, 2009 release, the movie will claw its way into U.S. theaters on February 12, 2010.
