'The Taking of Pelham 123': When Two Different Worlds Collide
Movie

Director Tony Scott promises to keep audience on the edge of their seats when 'The Taking of Pelham 123' hits theaters this Friday, June 12.

AceShowbiz - This Friday, June 12, "The Taking of Pelham 123", a remake of a 1974 film of the same name, will take over U.S. theaters. Chronicling the hijacking of a subway train, this hostage drama film will present the distinctions between the cleanliness & high tech quality of the MTA and the darkness & grittiness of New York's subway, and so much more.

Promoting the movie through an exclusive featurette from Sony Pictures, director Tony Scott promised that it will be different from any other movies he has ever made. He insisted that this film, which is dubbed by The New York Times as a "canny, energetic updating of the 1974 mass transit thriller", will never let the audience off the hook from the point they hit their theater's seat.

Beside the Tony Scott-touch, "Pelham 123" also sees the collaboration between two of Hollywood talented actors, Denzel Washington and John Travolta. These two Academy Award-winning stars play New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber and criminal mastermind Benard Ryder respectively as they try to outwit each other to achieve their goals.

The drama in "Pelham 123" is kicked off when Ryder leads his highly-armed gang of four to hijack a fully-filled subway train. Somewhere in the headquarter, Walter is having his yet another ordinary day. But that lasted only until he gets in touch with Ryder who demands a large ransom to be paid within one hour in exchange of the train's passengers. Now, finding himself entangled in a desperate need to save the innocent lives, Walter employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder.

In support of "The Taking of Pelham 123", Sony Pictures have established an official site for the action thriller, Catch the Train. Through it, one can get more information about the movie itself from learning about its release date in various countries to seeing trailers, clips and behind the scenes videos. In addition to other interesting features, one can also purchase the "Pelham 123" tickets.
