Adam Lambert Inks Record Deal With 19 Recordings

Adam Lambert follows in the footsteps of Kris Allen by also signing a record deal with the 'American Idol' winner's label.

AceShowbiz - It is official, Adam Lambert who is "American Idol" season eight runner-up has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings. The announcement arrives just one day after the Idol winner Kris Allen secured the same deal with the label. While Kris' album is licensed to Jive Records, Adam's effort is licensed to RCA.

"I'm thrilled that we've come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album," Adam says in a press release. "We are 100|percent| on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It's going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!!!"

Simon Fuller, creator of "American Idol" and founder of 19 Entertainment also shares his opinion in regard of Adam's recruitment as his label's artist. He states, "To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event. I am thrilled that 'American Idol' was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow."

Barry Weiss, chairman and CEO of RCA/Jive Label Group, offers his supportive statement as well. "There are no longer any rules in terms of where the world's next superstars may come from. We are thrilled to be getting involved with Adam Lambert as we all at RCA Records believe he is one of those rare, future global stars," so he explains.

Now that he has found a home to release his debut album, Adam Lambert is scheduled to hit recording booth this summer while he is touring with Top 10 Idol outcasts. While waiting the record to be finished, his fans can enjoy several of his singles, "Mad World", "No Boundaries", "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "One" which all have been made available for digital purchase.
