Sam Worthington Addresses 'Green Lantern' Rumor
Movie

Though noting that he couldn't see himself in green spandex, 'Terminator Salvation' star Sam Worthington insists that he needs to see the script first before making any decision.

AceShowbiz - As his name keeps jumping in and out from "Green Lantern" casting, Sam Worthington takes it to MTV News to set things straight. Saying an honest fact on the possibility of him playing the superhero character, the Marcus Wright of "Terminator Salvation" confessed, "I don't know about that. I couldn't really see myself in green spandex, mate."

Worthington furthermore insisted that he is waiting to read a script, before he can say anything about it. "There's stories out there, and I like stories about people who get knocked down and they have to build themselves back up," he explained on what could possibly make him interested in the project. "That heroic tale really appeals to me."

Earlier, Moviehole has reported that while the 32-year-old was assumed to be out from the run to be Hal Jordan due to his commitment to "Clash of the Titans", he is actually still in contact with director Martin Campbell for the role. "I've been talking to (director) Martin Campbell about it," the site quoted Worthington's remark.

"It's one of those things where they're still doing the script. I said, 'Give me a script. Let me have a look at it.' I like Martin a lot. I met him on the Bond stuff [Casino Royale], and I like his work, but the second step is, 'Is it a movie that I'd go and see?'"

"Green Lantern" itself centers on the story of Hal Jordan, an ordinary test pilot who is suddenly given the task by dying alien named Abin Sur to protect the space using a green energy-powered ring. Pre-production for the movie scripted by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green is set to begin in July, before moving on to the filming in November for a U.S. release on June 17, 2011.
