AceShowbiz - Pink recently revealed she would not use "Circus" theme for her tour should she know that fellow singer Britney Spears also had the same idea. "Had I known that certain other people were going to base their latest thing about circus things, I probably would have went into another direction," so she said.
"I was six months before that," Pink continued with further explanation, recalling the time she came up with the concept. "And didn't really understand that it was a trend that was happening. I'm pretty out of the loop."
Pink based the "Circus" theme of her tour on her latest album "Funhouse", which came out in October 2008. Britney Spears also pulled out the concept from her latest set "Circus", which arrived in store in December 2008.
Now that the tour is all set up, Pink promises to bring out something different than what concertgoers have seen during Britney's roadshow. While Britney's gigs mostly deal with lip-synced performance and dance-oriented show, Pink's concerts will be a "gritty, emotional rock 'n' roll" live appearance.
Commenting on her choice of bringing "Circus" theme into the effort, Pink said she jumped into such idea because "[Circus is] full of what mainstream society considers freakish and the outcasts." She also claimed the theme as "kind of sexy and exciting and big and over the top."
Pink will start touring across America on September 15 at WAMU Theatre in Seattle, Washington. As for Britney, she has kicked off her U.S. roadshow at New Orleans Arena on March 3.
