"It is such a great loss to this community to lose an actress and person such as Natasha," Patrick Swayze says about late co-star Natasha Richardson.

AceShowbiz - Actor Patrick Swayze, who's been battling stage 4 of pancreatic cancer, issued a statement on Monday, March 23, paying tribute to late actress Natasha Richardson, his co-star in the 2002 dramedy flick "Waking Up in Reno". Beside remembering the stage and film actress, Patrick also sent out his well wishes for Natasha's husband Liam Neeson and their sons; Micheal Richard Antonio and Daniel Jack.

"It is such a great loss to this community to lose an actress and person such as Natasha," read Patric's statement. "Gifts like her don't come along very often. It's a rare thing in this industry to have someone with so much talent, beauty, and dedication and yet is imbued with such humility. I know for me and many other people, the world will be a different place without her."

Patrick ended his statement, saying "My heart goes out to Liam and his two boys, but I'm sure that Natasha's light is shining down on them."

Natasha Richardson passed away on March 18 after falling down while skiing at the Mont Tremblant Resort in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 16. The incident left her with a serious brain injury. She was 45.

Following her death, the lights of Broadway's theaters were dimmed for a minute on March 19 to honor Natasha. A private wake was held the following day at the American Irish Historical Society in N.Y.C. On Sunday, March 22, Natasha's remains were buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in Millbrook, N.Y.
