Claiming to have spoken to his son Chris Brown, Clinton Brown says Chris has been staying at home as he needs "some time to get his thoughts together and regroup."

AceShowbiz - Chris Brown's biological father, Clinton Brown, told People magazine in an exclusive interview that on Thursday, February 12 he has spoken to his singer son, who's been laying low at home. Clinton, nevertheless, didn't disclose on the exact location where Chris is currently staying, insisting "Let's just say he's home. Just know that he's home. He needed some time to get his thoughts together and regroup."

"He's reflecting on this situation," Clinton told People in an interview at his home which is located outside Tappahannock, Va. "He's very remorseful. He's very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna's] okay."

Speaking of what he has in mind about Chris being accused of attacking a woman, widely believed to be pop star Rihanna, Clinton opened up, "This is unfortunate, this stumble, this situation. Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip." He then added, "If you are on his side, you are on his side. Just because someone trips, if you are truly a fan, you are not going to demonize him instantaneously."

Standing by Chris' side despite his recent arrest, Clinton told People, "This music industry is very unforgiving when it comes to having indiscretions. He will continue to be a good person. He loves people. And like most of us, most humans, things will occur. And hopefully a person won't be judged simply on that alone." Clinton continued that despite all, "As a father, I couldn't be more proud. He's the light of my life. I think he's [going to] grow as an individual. He's going to take from this situation and learn from it."

Authorities, in the meantime, are still collecting more evidence related to Chris Brown's case and prosecutors won't be able to charge the music star before next week at the earliest, Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the L.A. District Attorney's Office, has been quoted as saying.
