Billy Bob Thornton Eyed to Be Freddy Krueger in 'Nightmare' Remake
Movie

Rumor has it that Angelina Jolie's ex-husband may take over Robert Englund's most memorable character, Freddy Krueger, in 'Nightmare on Elm Street' reboot.

AceShowbiz - Providing a follow up to the report stating that "Nightmare on Elm Street" producer Brad Fuller wants a new Freddy Krueger for the remake, latest news concerning the casting of the iconic kids killer proposed that Billy Bob Thornton is being considered to take the part. This speculation allegedly has been sparked by Krueger's original depicter himself, Robert Englund.

Talking to a late night radio show Loveline in promotion of his horror comedy "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer", the 61-year-old confessed that he has heard talks about the possibility of Thornton to slip on the red and black-stripped sweater for the role. Despite Englund's remark on the subject, Thornton's possible involvement should still be considered as a rumor, especially since no word is coming out from Platinum Dunes.

"Nightmare on Elm Street" is a reboot of Wes Craven's 1984 horror classic. It will relive once again the terror spread by Krueger when he attacks his victims through their dreams. Written by Wesley Strick, the movie will be produced by Michael Bay, Fuller and Andrew Form.
