The sequel of the blockbuster action adventure "Transformers", "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", is said to be heading to Philadelphia for the production. According to an article in MainLineToday.com, the Michael Bay-directed picture is more likely to be shot at 'the City of Brotherly Love' due to the city's "film-friendly" environment.

Talking about the benefit the city offered to many filmmakers, the executive director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office Sharon Pinkenson exposed, "Right now, we're looking at applications for six to eight films to begin in June, and more to follow. The not-so-top-secret list includes Remorse, Three Sistas, Shyamalan's Avatar series, a film based on Marley & Me and possibly Transformers." On the possibility of Philly becoming one of the film's shooting locations, Administrator Nelson noted in Michael Bay's official website that Bay is scouting for locations in Washington DC and Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, on the reason why Philly might be chosen to be the filming location, Pinkenson explained, "The film industry is [an] increasingly lucrative [thing] for government to em-brace. We already have a reputation as the most cooperative and film-friendly city in the business. Having these tax incentives adds to our attraction...enhancing Philly's reputation as a movie-friendly city with manageable amounts of red tape. "How to" services are offered free of charge and cover everything from hiring a police officer to getting a street closed. There are numerous resources, including screenwriting contests, a job hotline and profiles spotlighting the city's filmmakers."
