The Police has been chosen as the headlining act in the last day of the England's three-days festival.

One of the biggest music festivals in England has signed The Police as one of its headliner. The Isle of Wight is back with its 2008 event, putting the reunited band as the headlining act in its closing night.

"It's a coup to get The Police for the festival," promoter John Giddings said in a statement. "We're very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight."

As usual, the event will take the three-days weekend, this year scheduled for June 13-15 at Seaclose Park, Newport. The festival has driven a growing number of audience in the past three years gaining 10,000 more attendance each year.

Tickets for the festival will go on public sale on December 10 at 9 A.M. More acts for the headlining slots will be announced later.
