Franz Ferdinand is putting a full gear on their album work and believe that their new materials are "Synth-led"

AceShowbiz -

Franz Ferdinand will move to a new direction for their upcoming album. The Scottish rock act have been putting "synth-led" materials as a demo within their raw album work.

Drummer Paul Thomson said, "Synth-led, we've gone crazy buying old synths... We played Nashville recently and all the synths short circuited in the heat, we had to play a greatest hits set instead. But everybody was still smiling."

Paul also revealed that the band is currently recording demos, rehearsing and writing. He said, "It's going well, it was good to have breather and not impose impossible deadlines on ourselves... the songs are evolving quite nicely."

If everything goes smoothly then the album will be in shelves by Spring next year.

Meanwhile, the band is providing a soundtrack to David Mackanzie's movie "Hallam Foe". Their song "Hallam Foe Dandelion Blow" will be compiled with other songs by other acts in a record to be released August 13 via Domino Records.
