The Decemberists will play a handful of dates this summer and fans can expect a surprise from the five-piece indie pop band. The band's show will be backed up with a full orchestra in each city.

The jaunt that is held to support the already extremely received album "The Crane Wife" will feature orchestral version of the band's songs. Composer Sean O'Loughlin will be the mastermind of the new arrangement.

The tour will start July 7 in LA with LA Philharmonic July 7 and wrap up July 18 in Chicago, IL with Grant Park Orchestra. Other ensemble participating in this tour are Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Mann Festival Orchestra.

Beside the orchestra-supported shows, The Decemberists is scheduled for appearance in Bonaroo Music Festival on June 17, Summerstage Festival on July 16 and Edgefield Winery night on July 22. European tour will follow after throughout September and October.
