Laurence Fishburne has been confirmed to fill in the voice of The Silver Surfer in 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."

Turns out that Doug Jones will not deliver his own dialogue as The Silver Surfer in 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."

Variety has confirmed that the voice of the Power Cosmic wielder will be provided by actor Laurence Fishburne instead, who has already joined the flick this week. Fishburne, best known for his role in "The Matrix" trilogy, previously was speculated to be in the running for the voice of God-like villain Galactus yet Variety did note that Fox hasn't decided whether the character will even speak.

Regarding Galactus, AICN recently brought in an interesting tidbit stating that the planet-destroyer is going to look like a storm cloud with its scooper saying the moviegoers should expect something like "Superman/Silver Surfer flying through clouds with Galactus/Jorel (voice-over)."

The second installment of the superhero franchise, "Surfer" this time finds the heroic quartet trying to stop the destruction of Earth prepared by The Silver Surfer while at the same time facing the return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom. Fox has set up June 15, 2007 as the movie's release date.
