An exclusive and mutual contract is signed between rapper Eminem and Universal Music Publishing Group.

A business deal has been signed between Eminem and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG). The label under the Universal Music has announced that Eminem's international administration will be taken care of under the new company.
Among the deals discussed in the contract is the right to the Grammy Award winning rapper's greatest hits compilation album "Curtain Call: The Hits" (2005). Also, some songs that he had co-written in 50 Cent's "The Massacre" (2005) and Akon's single "Smack That" that features him.
Moreover, Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg are also entitled to Shady Music Publishing, the deal that allows the rapper to take in other songwriters and musicians.
This deal has brought a tremendous delight to UPMG's chairman, David Renzer, "Eminem is an icon for millions of music fans around the globe. His success as a writer and producer for both his own records as well as other artists continues to grow. We are honored that Eminem and his representatives have chosen Universal Music Publishing Group as their new home."
