Radiohead's frontman Thom Yorke has announced that his first solo album, "The Eraser," is set to hit stores on July 11.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will have his debut solo album "The Eraser," released in July later this year. The singer confirms the unveiling of his new project in an email to Radiohead fan websites at the same time as the band embarked on their latest UK tour.

"This is just a note to say that something has been kicking around in the background that I have not told you about," he wrote. "It's called The Eraser." Despite such fact, Yorke would like to set the record straight, rubbished the rumor that he is splitting from band Radiohead.

"As you know the band are now touring and writing new stuff and getting to a good space so I want no crap about me being a traitor or whatever splitting up blah blah," he wrote in an email to members of Radiohead's W.A.S.T.E. fan organization. "This was all done with their blessing. And I don't wanna hear that word solo. Doesn't sound right."
