J.C. Chandor, Mark Boal, and their gruff band of he-men never let things slacken. There may be no honor among thieves, but "Triple Frontier" certainly makes watching them pretty entertaining
it would be easy for Chandor and Boal to take "Triple Frontier" down an obvious path, but the direction they choose is more complex, morally damning, and affecting. "Triple Frontier" is a smart heist movie with a conscience and a soul
fortunately, "Triple Frontier" doesn't lack for forward momentum once the group mobilizes, and the movie maintains a sufficient degree of thrills as each stage of the plan hits a new snag
despite the heavy dose of action and numerous tense situations, this Netflix offering has trouble staying in high gear once it gets there and the characterizations remain one-dimensional
a glossy, mostly compelling film; it's an enjoyable enough; Chandor has assembled a solid ensemble with Isaac surrounded by Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund and Pedro Pascal
"Triple Frontier" is a solid, engrossing genre item with designs on being something more. It doesn't quite get there but it does well enough along the way to make the journey worth taking
