In the gritty, morally complex world of the Indian legal system, a small-time lawyer named Jagdishwar Mishra, nicknamed Jolly, dreams of making it big. Played with earnest ambition by Akshay Kumar, he fabricates a case to gain quick fame and fortune, only to find himself entangled in a high-profile murder trial that is far more dangerous than he ever imagined. Teaming up with his supportive yet pragmatic wife, played by Huma Qureshi, Jolly must face off against a formidable and cunning public prosecutor, portrayed by Annu Kapoor, in a courtroom battle where the truth is the first casualty. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, this satirical drama-comedy masterfully blends sharp humor with tense procedural drama, exposing the absurdities and profound injustices within the corridors of power. As the case unfolds, Jolly is forced to confront his own conscience, navigating a maze of corruption and manipulation where winning might require losing a part of his soul.
