Two Brooklyn-raised siblings find their summer upended when their mother moves them to rural O?ahu to care for their ailing grandfather in this family-friendly adventure. Pili, played by Kea Peahu, is a resourceful but city-slicker girl who stumbles upon an old journal hinting at a long-lost pirate treasure that could save her family’s home. Dragging along her reluctant, screen-obsessed brother Ioane (Alex Aiono) and his new friends, they embark on a daring quest into the island’s lush and mysterious interior. Their journey becomes a race against a rival group of treasure hunters, forcing them to navigate ancient caves, solve cryptic puzzles, and confront the legends of the land. Directed by Jude Weng and featuring Kelly Hu and Ke Huy Quan, the film blends action and comedy as the kids discover that the greatest treasure isn’t gold, but reconnecting with their Hawaiian heritage—their ‘ohana.
