Stargirl is an upcoming American superhero television series developed by Geoff Johns for the streaming service DC Universe. Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, the series follows high school student Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), who discovers the Cosmic Staff and becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes. The series was announced in July 2018, and the first trailer was released in May 2019. The series is set to premiere on May 18, 2019. The promo "Destiny" features Courtney discovering the Cosmic Staff and learning about her destiny as Stargirl.
