Welcome to Marwen is an upcoming American biographical drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and Caroline Thompson. The film is based on the 2010 documentary Marwencol, which tells the story of Mark Hogancamp, a man who built a miniature town in his backyard as a way to cope with PTSD after being attacked by five men outside a bar. The film stars Steve Carell as Hogancamp, Leslie Mann as his wife Nicol, Diane Kruger as his neighbor Deja Thoris, Merritt Wever as his art therapist Krista Swope, and Janelle Monáe as his friend Gretta. A trailer for the film was released on September 12, 2018, and the film is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2018.
