Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is the upcoming sequel to the 2008 musical film Mamma Mia!. The film is directed by Ol Parker and written by Parker and Catherine Johnson. The film stars Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Dominic Cooper, and Lily James. The film is set five years after the events of the first film and follows Sophie (Seyfried) as she investigates her mother's past and discovers the secrets of her family. The film was released in theaters on July 20, 2018, by Universal Pictures.
