Adrift (2018) is an upcoming American biographical survival drama film directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Aaron and Jordan Kandell, based on the 2012 memoir Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss, and Survival at Sea by Tami Oldham Ashcraft and Susea McGearhart. The film stars Shailene Woodley, Sam Claflin, Jeffrey Thomas, Elizabeth Hawthorne, and Grace Palmer. The film follows Ashcraft, a young woman who is stranded at sea for 41 days after a catastrophic hurricane destroys their boat. She must fight to survive and find her way back to land.
