The CW has released a preview for the eighth episode of Black Lightning's first season, entitled "The Book of Resistance: Chapter One: Thunder and Lightning." In the clip, Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning (Cress Williams) and his family are dealing with the aftermath of the revelation that Jefferson's father, Tobias Whale (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III), is still alive and well. Meanwhile, Lynn Stewart (Christine Adams) is working on a cure for the metahuman virus that has infected her daughter, Jennifer (China Anne McClain).
