"The Americans" is an American period drama television series created by Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields for the FX network. The series premiered on January 30, 2013, and ran for six seasons, ending on May 30, 2018. The show follows two Soviet KGB officers who are posing as an American couple in Falls Church, Virginia, during the Cold War. In the fifth season's ninth episode, titled "IHOP", Philip and Elizabeth Jennings (Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell) face new challenges as they try to balance their personal lives with their work as spies.
