Journey to the West 2 (Chinese: 西éŠè¨˜ä¹‹å«æ‚Ÿç©ºä¸‰æ‰“白骨精; literally: "Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Three Battles with the White Bone Spirit") is a 2016 Chinese action-adventure comedy film directed by Tsui Hark and starring Kris Wu, Lin Gengxin, and Yao Chen. It is based on the 16th-century novel Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en and serves as a sequel to the 2014 film Monkey King. The film was released in China on January 28, 2016. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the action sequences and performances, while others criticized the plot and excessive use of computer-generated imagery.
