Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an American superhero film based on the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman. The film was directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer. It is a sequel to 2013's Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Scoot McNairy in supporting roles.
In the film, Batman and Superman clash after Superman's actions in Metropolis create a rift between them. While Batman believes Superman is a threat to humanity, Superman believes Batman is a dangerous vigilante. The two must put aside their differences and work together to stop Lex Luthor, who is manipulating events to turn the public against Superman.
