Supergirl is an American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, and Andrew Kreisberg and based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El / Supergirl. It is a spin-off of the television series Arrow and The Flash, and exists in the same fictional universe. The series follows the adventures of Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian who escaped the destruction of her home planet and arrived on Earth as a teenager. She was taken in by the Danvers family, and learned to control her powers while keeping her identity a secret. As an adult, she decides to embrace her superhero persona and protect the world from threats, both human and alien.
