She guest-starred on Happy Days as the lovable Laverne DeFazio, the role that then led to the spin-off show Laverne & Shirley. After directing a few episodes, she knew directing was her calling. She went on to direct box-office hits like Jumpin' Jack Flash, Big and A League of Their Own, starring a young Rosie!
