As Mira and the Sixers drive away, they spot an abandoned Terra Nova vehicle. While stripping it of power cells and ammo, one Sixer is killed by a slasher-tail. Upon hearing the noise, Skye and Josh decide to head back.

Meanwhile, Taylor tells Jim that there's a vehicle missing and surveillance has detected the teenagers - Jim sees Josh is one of them - outside the compound. A search party has got to get them inside before nightfall. Jim and Elisabeth join this effort.

The teens find the stripped Terra Nova vehicle, then the Sixer vehicle with a wounded Sixer inside, who pulls a gun. Skye recognizes him as Drake, so he lets them inside. But a slasher-tail rendered this vehicle inoperable, and the dinosaur is back and attacks the occupants. There's panic as they realize that the slasher-tail's attack will bring more of them.

Using a radio in Drake's backpack, the teens contact the search party, holding off two slasher-tails with gunfire. One teen, Tasha, exits and runs. Taylor and company find her bleeding. Jim feels her wet cuffs and asks if there's a stream nearby.

While another teen, Max, will try to put power cells into the Terra Nova rover, Skye and Hunter will provide cover. Skye tells Josh that her parents recently died from Syncillic fever.

Then a slasher-tail rips the vehicle open and grabs Hunter. The teens' gunfire drives it away, and they rescue Hunter. Josh and Max now make the run. Max gets wounded, and a slasher-tail just misses Josh. Finally, the search party from the base rescues everyone.

Back at Terra Nova, Josh apologizes for running off and the Shannons exchange hugs. Then Skye apologizes to Taylor, but she denies going near the waterfalls.

Meanwhile, Mira orders the carvings destroyed, adding that - while incomplete - they tell of someone coming on the tenth pilgrimage who wasn't supposed to be here, someone who changes everything. And she thinks she knows who that person is.

At Terra Nova, the Shannons stand under the moonlight. Maddy notes that the stars are in different places because the universe has had 85 million years to expand, and the family stares into the nighttime sky.
