Sophie gets relationship advice from Melissa, of all people. It happens after a night of accidental girl bonding that ends with Melissa thinking she and Sophie are on the way to bcecoming BFFs again. Sophie isn't keen on that idea -- until Melissa lands her a date with Jesse, aka "Dr. Cutie."
Sophie and Jesse's date goes really well. So well, they wind up back at her place. Actually, they wind up in Sophie's hallway, where the date ends abruptly, because Rick and Melissa are having a fight in Sophie's apartment. Jesse departs, leaving Sophie in the middle of the squabble. Rick thinks Sophie's poisoning Melissa against him, and Melissa thinks Rick wants to squash her dreams of acting in the theater. (Rick thinks theater is only for people who don't photograph well. Nuff said.)
Meanwhile, Bridget gets the chance to ascend the "corporate ladder" when Sophie gives her a client all her own. That's the good news. The bad news is that the "client" is Christian and the project he wants Parker Talent to represent is an "unscripted drama" called "Prison Baby." After viewing the pilot, Bridget makes it clear she thinks it's not Parker Talent material. (An amazing feat, but not a winning combo.) Unfortunately, Judith won't take no for an answer, and it's impressive how convincing she can be. (Actually, it's really scary.)
Back on the dating front, Melissa nabs Sophie another date with Jesse. But this time her matchmaking comes with strings attached -- she asks Sophie to dog-sit Puppy Baby while she auditions for a play.
Unfortunately, Melissa's audition runs late, so Sophie has to take Puppy Baby along on the date. Puppy Baby actually behaves well (sort of), and Sophie and Jesse have a great time. Then Melissa and Rick show up, one after the other... and THEY behave extremely badly. Rick thinks Jesse is there with Melissa and punches him in the nose. Melissa throws a hissy fit when she finds out Sophie told Rick she wouldn't cry if he and Melissa broke up. Rick, Melissa, and Puppy Baby storm off but, miraculously, Jesse doesn't. (Guess doctors dn't scare easily.)
In fact, the date goes so well that the next morning, when Matt comes over to Sophie's place, he hears someone in the shower, And it's NOT Sophie.
