A dark day for one couple becomes a beacon of hope for others when a trapeze artist is declared DOA after an accident. An organ donor, the performer's rare kidney sets off a transplant chain of donors and recipients that could save the lives of several patients. Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance), along with Dr. Shahir Hamza (Huse Madhavji), and newly transferred General Surgeon Jeremy Bishop (Peter Mooney), struggle to keep the chain under control as a host of complications and a few nervous patients stand in their way.
In the ward, Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) must treat the trapeze artist's partner (Alison Louder), but when her spirit takes to roaming the halls Charlie must enlist the help of Kristine (Nicole Underhay) to get to the bottom of a ghost unlike any he's seen before. Meanwhile, Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) endures the company of Joshua Lewis (Tom McCamus), a chatty Poetry Professor, during a chemo session, only to find the strength to treat her illness in her own way.
